Well, actually I discuss about this topic with a friend quite some time ago after reading another friend's blog. She asked, what are differences between crush, admire, like and love? How do you differentiate them? How will you define them? Well, we came out with the following explanation...

Crush - usually happen at the first sight. You will usually have a crush at someone due to his or her physical apperance. Because he is handsome? Or because she is pretty. So, basically speaking, this is the most superficial type of feeling. It last only for a short period. In most of the cases, you might think the other way round after you get to know about the person.

Admire - when u admire someone, then that person must be very outstanding or at least, better than yourself. He or she has the qualities or personalities that, you wish to have yourself. He or she can be a famous artist or singer, or a guy who is very good in sport, or a genius girl who score 4.00 for all of the semesters. Admiration won't last for a long period also, same as crush but maybe longer. Admiration will only allow you to see the best part of a person, not his or her weaknesses.

Like - only happen after you get to know about the person. You like someone because he or she is kind? helpful? sweet? understanding? Well, as you might have noticed, when you like someone, it's usually because of the good side of him or her. Take an example, maybe you will only like someone when he or she is cheerful, but you keep away from the person when he or she is emo. Because you don't wana get influenced yourself, or simply because you are not willing to share the person's sorrow. Yes, of course, you like him or her, but that's only when the person is nice and sweet. Not the time when they become demons. Admire and like is "sama tapi tak serupa". When you admire someone, most of the time, you haven't got the chance to know him or her in person. You start to like someone only when you already know him or her. Confusing? No?

Love - People always say: "I love you", so easily that it's not from the bottom of their heart. It is usual to hear a friend telling you, "oh my! Do you know how much I love you?" Please. Don't get overexcited with what you heard. Think. Is that true? Is that what they really mean? Love. What is love exactly? Well, I am certainly not an expert here. But maybe I can share my own views with you. Love, is something very pure, a great feeling that can only be understood sincerely from the bottom of our heart. Being grateful to someone doesn't mean you love him or her. Being attached to some is not loving him or her too, it is mere admiration. Love includes understanding and forgiving. You forgive someone's wrongdoing to you if you truly love him or her. Love includes trust. There is no need much explanation for what a person has done because you believe him or her, you trust the person, because you love the person. When you love someone, you not only love his or her good part, but also his or her bad part. You accept the person as a whole, you will always love him or her no matter how.
