Operation Christmas Child

I know I should have posted this earlier.... But I just lost the intention to blog about it.... Until I was reminded while browsing through my pictures....

OPERATION X'MAS CHILD!

The logo. Argh, blur...

I heard about this when I last went to Hui Theng's church in Madison. Thought it was such a great move driven by God.
The purpose of this operation is to spread God's love and joy to the children in less developed regions of the world. By that, I think most are those in Africa. I think.
People will wrap their presents inside a shoe box and send over to the volunteers then the volunteers will send those heart-warming gifts into the hands of the children.

==========================================================

I was very surprised and excited when I saw the flyer in my church regarding the operation. Wow! Our church is having that too?!!

So, that night after bible study, Wei Jia brought me and Liu Ning go walmart to shop for our food and of course! The gifts!!!
We strolled for such a long time in walmart until it was near midnight!

I was so excited and couldn't wait to wrap my present. I even bought a wrapping paper to wrap my shoe box (even though it's not required).

Once reach home, I happily took out all the presents I bought, found the most suitable shoe box in the world and was beginning to fix everything into the box when.....

Simon sent me a message in msn:
"Hey! Amy, I think you left your sort of wrapping paper in Helen's car?"

Oh man! Yea! I could not find my wrapping paper!!! WHERE IS IT?!
I DEFINITELY had left it behind when I picked up all the stuff (not all, apparently) from Helen's car.

My excitement just went "whoooshhhhhh"............
Tak ada mood lagi... =(

Sunday...

I bought my "naked" shoe box to church anyhow because I thought that was the last day we can submit our presents. Half discouraged when I saw others' boxes were wrapped nicely in colorful present paper.

Just when the pastor said,"Brothers and sisters, we will still be collecting the shoe boxes next week. So if you still want to give something to the children, you still have time to prepare it and give us next Sunday."

=D

Hah! I will submit it next Sunday then.
By then, Simon already passed the wrapping paper back to me. =P

DECIDED. NEXT SUNDAY WILL IT BE.

Finally, within that week, I managed to wrap up my shoe box with the "not-so-girly" present paper. (Or is it still girly?)

Tada!

Of course it is girlish, it is meant for a girl! =P

I enclosed a card with it =)

I am very very broke after buying all those presents. Nevertheless, I feel glad for being able to involve myself in such a meaningful event =)
I wish that the shoe box will reach safely into the hands of those children. I can already imagine their full-of-excitement- smiling-faces while opening the boxes.

Let's pray for those children. My brothers and sisters.
And pray for those volunteers and pastors in succeeding this operation. =)

(wondering: where is my shoe box now?)
