I know i know... I have kept u guys waiting so long for this post.... The fact is: I have been really busy. I just put down the work on hand now to blog for a while. And TO REST! Hahaha....
A lot of things have happened since I came here... Out of my expectation.....
Let me start the story from the airplane part....
So, I left Malaysia to Korea. The flight was smooth and I was constantly in excited mode. Hahaha... I was managed to switch place with an iNTI guy and sit beside Julius. So, basically, we just keep chatting and taking short nap in the plane. Oh oh oh!!! I managed to c some stars in the plane too! Jon Mok! I am very sure those are stars!
Second flight from Korea to Chicago is horrible. HORRIBLE I TELL U!
We used Korean Airline and the plane was constantly shaking during the flight. Everyone came off from the plane feeling dizzy. I vomitted at least 8 times in the flight. Huh.... Surprise surprise I still get air sickness after flying KL-Kuching for so many times. I thought I am immune to air sickness dy... Apparently I was wrong.
Huh........................
When we reached Indianapolis airport, a few seniors came pick us up. The pick up I mean here is not fetching us back... Ar ar.... Nah nah.... We have to spend USD35 each to use limo and back to the senior's place. And so, we spent our first night in US at a senior's apartment.
The second day.....................
We went to register and get our PUID (Purdue ID) done. And opened our bank account also. Later on, Jacky took me back to the senior's place to move out our luggages and moved into our apartment. (Why only me and Jacky? That Uma and Julius went to PUSH and never came back! lol) We waited for Uma and Julius to come back and meet us but those two fella went jalan-jalan already, leaving both me and Jacky starving.... Hahaha....
After that, we went to Wal-mart to buy the necessary and urgent: FOOD!
That night, we slept on floor. In fact, we had been sleeping on the floor for the first few days because we did not have any beds. I know. Pathetic.
The third day....................................
And so, our initial plan is: Jacky drop us at at&t near waterfront apartment > we use bus to go campus > call him when done > he come pick us up.
Turned out: at&t near waterfront apartment was officially moved > Jacky brought us to the at&t at sagamore > Waited for more than 4 hours to get the phone (I skipped details here) > dropped us back at campus > met our advisor > he came pick us up. Huh.............. Really tiring........
That night, we planned to make our very very first dinner. So, we were happily cutting the tomatoes and so on and so forth. Suddenly, we heard siren.
"What is that siren thingy?"
"Duno. Fire alarm ar?"
"Tak tau. Maybe is just the train."
So, we continued with our cooking, ignoring the blasting siren.
"Rrrringgggggggggggg...................................." Phone rang.
"Julius, help me pick up that phone. My hand's dirty."
Silence.............................
"OMG! Jacky just called and said that was the siren for tornado warning!"
SHIT!
We quickly pack our things into the closet and ran out from our apartment wearing shorts and t-shirt only to find out that the Americans were strolling happily outside. We managed to stop a guy and asked him about the tornado warning. He told us to just go back to our room and be more alert. If the rain still not stopping and if the chipping of the birds faded then we had to go to the basement to hide ourselves.
And so, the three of us went back to our room, laughing at how stupid we were. That's when we heard the siren again. We heard from our neighbor next door that the situation had worsen. We quickly ran to his apartment and stayed with them until the rain stopped.
What an experience!
(I will update more when I have more free time. Am really busy here. Till then!)
